Why would you buy a property in Turkey? Why not? With the vast and beautiful coastlines that are easily accessible from all over the world with
direct flights, with its living crazy metropolitans and many historical sites, Turkey is still one of the best options for foreigners who want to get
a taste of the Turkish style. Since the property prices in other European coastal countries like Spain boomed in the last years, Turkey has become a
perfect alternative with better prices, and a sense of exotics.
Turkey is considerably cheap to live in when compared to other European countries, but it is very rich in terms of its touristic sites, beautiful
coastlines, and historical ruins from the great civilizations including the Ottomans, Byzantines, Romans and the Greeks.
Winters are warm in the Aegean and Mediterranean cities of the country and it is easy to find direct flights to most of the cities in Turkey. To all
these advantages, you should also add the Turkish hospitality and the great Turkish cuisine.
Germans have always been at the top of European countries that chose Turkey to settle in, but the trend is moving across the Brits, Russians and some
other Middle Eastern countries. Most of the houses were bought from Bodrum and Istanbul, as the statistics say.
Some of the top cities that foreigners buy property are:
Cesme: It is the most popular seaside town among both Turkish people and the foreigners. It is 50 kms away from Izmir. There are
quite a number of properties for sale, either by the sea or inside the town center which is very colorful and busy especially in summer time.
Kusadasi: Another Aegean town which is cheap but very crowded in summertime. It is the number one docking place for the big cruise
ships that visit Turkey due to its close distance to the Ephesus ruins. Apartment and villa prices are affordable, and the winters are also very
warm.
Didim: Close to Kusadasi, Didim is a smaller town but it is growing and developing. Needles to say, this town which is easy to live
in, is crowded in summer time. Altinkum, which is a very close distance from Didim is also inexpensive for foreigners and with a range of villa
options, it is becoming more popular each day.
Bodrum: Most buyers in Bodrum area are Turkish but several Real Estate Agencies in Bodrum are promoting house sales for countries
like France, Belgium, Holland and most recently for Russia and Azerbaijan. It still remains as an undiscovered spot for foreigners tough there are
residents from Germany, Britain, Sweden and Denmark.
There are many resorts and luxury hotels in the town, and the town center becomes extremely crowded in summer. It has an easily accessible airport
and a variety of flats and villas overlooking the bay.
Marmaris: Is also a major tourist area but also a big market for property buyers with its close distance to the Dalaman Airport.
Fethiye-Oludeniz: Most of the famous pictures promoting Turkish coasts were taken in Oludeniz in Fethiye. You may find a variety of
properties ranging from studio flats to villas with private pools.
Kalkan and Kas: These two small towns at the most southern part of Turkey are especially popular among the Brits. When you go to the
city
center you see that everything is priced in British pounds, like you are living in a small version of Britain. In both towns you may find villas with
private pools and up on the hill looking towards the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. There are also a lot of holiday rental options in both towns.
Istanbul, as being the largest and most crowded city in Turkey, is also still an option for foreigners who would like a more
authentic and REAL Turkish experience. All the hassle in the city, historical sites, Turkish cuisine options at each corner, shopping options,
outdoor activity options and sometimes just the view of the Bosphorus makes Istanbul a tempting choice for foreigners. Buying a villa may be too
expensive but there are a lot of new apartments in Istanbul. A variety of Real Estate Agencies are available in Istanbul with good experience and a
ton of property choices they can offer.
It is undeniable that there is a growing interest towards Turkey as an exotic destination which remains affordable. It is attractive because of its
proximity to Europe, yet having its own authentic assets.
