A very unusual and beautiful house, perched on a hilltop with quite breathtaking all-around views, with excellent access, 3 Kms from Comares and 15/20 minutes from Benamargosa and Riogordo
Located on a ridge, with 360º mountain and country views, one certainly does feel one is in an eagles’ nest in this beautiful home – hence the name! The house is set on a plot of around 5000m2 of land, much of it sloping, but enough to make use of some of the sloping areas, in addition to the flat garden areas around the house. There is no dirt track to this house.
A steep concrete drive leads off the country lane to a good sized parking area, in front of the house. A covered porch with beautiful mosaic tile flooring leads into the kitchen (4 x 2.75m), with a fully fitted kitchen with views from the windows! To the right is access to bedroom 1 (2.75 x 2.4m). This room is divided from the kitchen by a simple partition wall, and could be knocked out to make a larger kitchen/dining room, if required. If a second bathroom is required, a store shed currently accessed from outside could potentially be converted into an ensuite bathroom for this bedroom.
The kitchen leads into the living room (3.65 x 2.88m) with double doors out to the main terrace area and staircase at the far end. To the left (rear) of the living room is access to bedroom 2 (3.65 x 2.43m) with windows to the rear, a wall mounted heater, built-in cupboard, and of course, amazing views, including of the Sierra Nevada! And at the far end of the living room, past the staircase, is bedroom 3 (2.75 x 2.43m) and the bathroom (2.8 x 2.5m), with the bath hidden around the corner – a very pleasant bathroom, with the afternoon sunlight heating the bath water!
The stairs lead up to a large, open mezzanine level, a beautiful area that could be divided off to make an additional bedroom, or, it can be enjoyed as it is, as a wonderful winter living room. This delightful area has sloping double eave ceiling with beams, and a terrace at each end, with glass patio doors, one of which is very spacious, a perfect outdoor space to enjoy the views, the mountain air and the sunsets and sunrises, depending which terrace you choose. The sunset terrace has a glass wall to protect the terrace from the elements.
There is a 600 litre hot solar panel which gives hot water pumped to all necessary areas in the house.
Around the house are various patios and gardens, The lovely main terrace, with arches, is the perfect outside space for outdoor living, dining and snoozing! There is also a raised vegetable bed. There are no neighbours, no disturbances, and total silence…
Terracing is possible for more trees etc. There are currently 6 olive trees, 2 algorrobos (carob), 1 fig tree, 2 lemon and 1 lime, 1 pomegranate and 2 grapevines. There is also a useful wood shed in the parking area, with mosaiced walk and steps down to 2.500 litre water tank and pump.
Steps from here lead down to the main garden terrace, a delightful area with a plunge pool to cool off in the heat of Summer. Around the property are many arches, beautifully framing the views.
This is the perfect property for anyone looking for a quirky, character country home on its own, but with reasonable access, in need of simple, affordable improvements.
